Birthdays as a Mother

While it's not as fun to have birthdays as you age as they were when you were little, its the little things during the day that make it far more worth it now.

When we got up yesterday morning, Greg told Leah to wish me Happy Birthday.  She said, "No, it's Logan's birthday."  (Logan's birthday was Monday)  Greg told her that it was yesterday but today it was Mommy's.  She innocently said, "Oh, Happy Birthday!"

When Abby woke up I waited to see how long until she remembered it was my birthday.  She'd been talking about it for a while and even went shopping with Greg the night before for the perfect gifts.  She didn't say anything about it so I decided to have some fun.  I gave both the girls silly straws in their cups.  When I handed the cups to them, I said "Happy Birthday!"  Abby looked confused as to what day it was and responded, "Its not my birthday."  I said, "Oh, it must be someone's because there are silly straws in your cups."  Abby immediately remembered and yelled, "Happy Birthday, Mom!"

Leah sung (her version) of Happy Birthday to me in the car.

What 30something woman doesn't want  a leaf blower for her birthday!!  You couldn't get that when you are little.  (Yes, it is what I asked for.)
