Something for Cameron

2/27/14

Cameron loves kicking, jumping, hitting, punching and anything that makes him feel like a ninja turtle or a superhero, so what better extra curricular activity to sign him up for than Tae Kwon Do?  I had heard about a program from another mother up at the girls' school.  They were offering it through the community college on Wednesday nights at our school!  She had signed up her twin boys who would actually be in Cameron's kindergarten class next year.  The class was starting that evening.

Tae Kwon Do would be so so so good for him.  He would have some place to channel all of his energy, learn some self discipline and  learn to be respectful.

After going home and calling the college, they told me to just go up to the class and see if Cameron would even like it before we signed him up and committed.  When I told him about it, he was so scared and was not too excited.  I thought for sure he would jump at it knowing he would learn real ninja moves.

We went up that first night and he loved it!
THE FIRST NIGHT
He has learned all of the proper Martial Art stances (horse, front, side and fighting).  He is working on different kicks (snap, side, and back), some punches (front, reverse, double and triple) and different defensive blocks (low, middle, high and Moki).  I know it sounds like so much but they all kind of work together and he has really been picking it up.

Ask him and he will show you.
