You must be this 'short'...

Today was a bitter sweet day.  Cameron and I went to the mall to visit the Lego store.  As we were leaving I saw him eyeing the play area.  Most of the time we walk as quickly as we can past it hoping to avoid the kids asking to go play.  Today we stopped.  It wasn't too crowded and I thought, why not, we had the time and he could use the energy release.  I saw another bigger kid so figured it would be okay for Cameron too.  As we made our way to the entrance we spotted the "Rules" sign.  There it said, "You must be less than 42" to play."  Ouch.  That stung a little.  He's 45".  Cameron did his best impersonation of a short kid but we knew he was just too big.

There it hit me.  I would no longer have a child young enough to be able to play on the mall playgrounds.  Suddenly, I am regretting all of the times we have passed them up & discouraged them from playing.
