All grown up

Abby had her 5 year check up today and received 4 shots. She was not happy. However, the appointment really made me face the reality that she isn't my baby anymore. She even made it a point to tell me so at the doctor's office. She is just so mature, I can hardly believe its already been 5 years.

In the car on the way to the doctors, she asked me if anyone likes getting shots. I told her probably not, but that people know that they are to help you. She clearly stated that she did not like them and was not happy about getting them. On the way home afterwards she told me over and over that it hurt. (She was a trooper, though) She asked why she needed them. I explained as best as I could that they would help kill germs she'd face at school and keep her from getting any major diseases. She told me she uses Germ-X for the germs. "Isn't that enough?" I told her it was not the same. Then we got into a discussion about what diseases were. I explained as best as I could. She seemed to comprehend it.

Now we just need to schedule her eye check.
