We had a great July 4th weekend. It started off on Friday by shooting off fireworks at our house with both sets of grandparents. The girls were so tickled that they got to stay up so late. They LOVED the fireworks!
On Saturday, the 4th, we traveled to California, MO to spend time with the large Scheidt family. We enjoyed a great meal and just spent the day catching up with family. Greg and I played some volleyball and the girls climbed the many tractors and threw down some snaps. We even had some great weather. Despite the rain all morning, by the afternoon it was dry and not too hot.
The kids just loved running around the farm and having freedom. It was nice to be able to let them do that without worrying about cars and strangers around.
California is a small town about 20 minutes west of Jefferson City. As we were leaving Abby said to us, "They probably don't have any stores here."
The most magical moment was driving home around 9pm and just looking out the windows at all the fireworks being shot. Abby and Leah kept shouting, "There's some!" and pointing out as many as they could while we drove (until they fell asleep).
