Daddy's Eyes

Abby got glasses.  Turns out she got Gregory's poor eyesight (along with his brains).  At least she has my beauty (Ha Ha).  She did fail the eye screening but the doctor told us she would be fine for awhile if we decided to wait on the glasses.  He advised that we just make sure she sat up front in school.

After thinking about it, we decided to go ahead and get the glasses.  It was not like her eyesight was getting any  better and it was evident she would eventually need them. We were noticing more and more things that she could not see far away and she had also been complaining lately of headaches.  We figured we would get the glasses.  I wanted her to have some time to get used to them over the summer before heading back to school.  I also didn't want her to worry at school if she was not able to sit up front in a class or in an assembly or something.

Since getting her glasses she has been amazed by what she wasn't seeing clearly.  She said the trees actually have leaves and don't just look like blurred dots on the trees.  She can see all of the clocks in the house now.  (One of our first indicators that she needed glasses was that she could no longer see our kitchen stove clock from her seat at the table.) An added bonus is that she hasn't been complaining of headaches since she got them.

We think secretly that she wanted glasses.  Some of her closest friends have them.  I am happy that she wanted them because we don't have to worry about her wanting to wear them.

Doesn't she look so studious?
