Imperial Scheidts: Hair short like Leah's

Leah and I were scheduled to get our hair cut on Wednesday morning. Abby asked if she could get hers cut. She wanted it short like Leah's. This surprised me because I often threaten her that we are going to have Aunt Shannon cut it because she cries and fights me brushing it all the time. She would always tell me, "NO, I don't want my hair cut. I want it long down to my butt." So when she wanted it cut, I couldn't believe it. I suggested she get it cut next week with Daddy and she pleaded to get it cut before we left to see Michael (in Iowa). I told her I would see if Aunt Shannon had an appointment tonight but if not, she'd have to wait until next week.

When I took her to school that morning she told EVERYONE that she might be getting her hair cut short that night. Most people seemed sad that she would be losing her long locks.

When I picked her up from school I told her that Shannon had one appointment at 8pm that night and she could have it if she still wanted it. She was sooo excited!

So I took her in. She told Shannon she wanted it really short and I said about 4 inches. Greg and I were not so excited or convinced that this was a good idea. Shannon cut the 4 inches off in about 20 minutes. When Abby saw it, she said she liked it but wanted it shorter. Shannon looked at me to make sure. We questioned Abby several times and she was adamant that she wanted more cut and told us it would grow back. So I gave Shannon the OK and she cut her hair again taking off two more inches. It turned out really, really cute. She looks about 7 years old and she loves it. She was so giddy that night about her new hair cut. She was so excited to show our neighbors that we got up and went to see them in the morning before they headed to work on Thursday. We went to the library the next day and she told anyone that would talk to her that she got 6 inches cut off. The whole way to Iowa, she kept saying she couldn't wait to show her hair to Michael, Kris, Jake and Emma and kept asking all day if it was still short.
