Randomisity

Below are some random thoughts that I have been meaning to post.
  • In February, the first time I took Cameron to the bathroom at Walmart, he fell in the toilet.  (There goes 'Mother of the Year'!)  I thought he was holding himself up while he was depending on me to hold him up.  Oops!  Now, whenever he is going potty and I am helping him, he always says in the cutest littlest voice...."Don't drop me in!"

  • When we first were potty training Cameron, he was definitely conditioned.  I noticed this while we were using the restrooms in public.  Anytime I was 'going' he would get a big smile on his face (and sometimes even clap for me) and say, "Good job, Mommy!"  He had definitely associated positive reinforcement with using the bathroom.

  • I walked into the same room as Abby and said, "Yo!Yo!Yo! Whatz up?"  Abby responded in her most innocent manner, "Why do I need a Yo Yo?"
  • I was called into Leah's room one night after she had been in bed for about 45min. She couldn't sleep because she heard a noise and was scared. I asked her what kind of noise she heard. She said she thought she heard a peregrine falcon.  That's enough of the educational TV around here.  I had never even heard of a peregrine falcon until she did.
  • One night at dinner, Cameron informed us, "Forks can grow up and be spoons."  We learned more from them everyday.

  • While talking about our upcoming vacation, I had made some comment about wanting to look really pretty for our trip.  Abby simple {and seriously} responded, "How are you going to do that?"  Of course she didn't mean it negatively, it just came across very humorously.

  • In June, the media was all in a buzz about Princess Kate and Prince William's wedding.  So of course the girls were quite curious about this real live princess, especially Leah.  Up until now, all she had known about princesses was what Disney had taught her.  One day after shopping we were going to head over to Grandma Scheidt's house to pick up her new puppy, Kate, while Grandma was out of town.  We were finishing up at the grocery store and I was trying to hustle the kids out to the car.  I said to them, "Come on guys, we need to go and pick up Kate."  Leah turned to the cashier to clarify.  She said, "Not the Princess Kate, Grandma's dog."  The look on the cashier's face was priceless as she accepted this fact.
(Author's disclaimer:  There are more "random" things I know I am forgetting.  But I guess that's why they are random.)
