March/April 2011-Dentist appointments
We had all been lacking in our bi-yearly teeth cleanings and check-ups. As well, Cameron had not yet been to see a dentist and he was 2 1/2yrs old. The months of March and April were comprised of multiple dental appointments (most of them were for me, unfortunately). For the most part, everything turned out just fine.
Of course, once again, Gregory's appointment was uneventful. He had no cavities and the dentist even made a comment on how surprised she was that his teeth looked so good.
This was also Leah's first official appointment where her teeth were actually checked and cleaned. Previously, they would only look at her teeth and count them when she was younger to get her used to the process. There were full x-rays, an exam and a cleaning. Come to find out, Leah was an All-Star! She had no cavities at all.
Since Cameron was still young, they skipped the x-rays and simply checked his teeth and did a quick cleaning. He was a trooper and did Awesome!
Abby was, unfortunately, not as lucky. Her x-rays showed one cavity so she needed a follow-up appointment to have it filled. She was apprehensive, but came through it with flying colors and no problems at all.

I, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. I had a cavity and the dentist also pulled out some old fillings that were not put in right and fixed them. I was also encouraged to have a special mouth guard made due to teeth grinding at night.
Needless to say, we all came through fine. It's funny to think that it is coming upon our 6month point where we will all be going through it again. Hopefully with many less cavities!
This is the book we bought to help the kids prepare for their appointments. It was a great example and the kids loved reading the book and learning the names of tools and procedures they would be through.
