Some of the best conversations with Abby happen in the car. We were driving together, just her and me, and she started talking about our upcoming annual trip to Minnesota. Years in the past we have been driving part of the way and staying at a hotel, then getting up the next morning and driving the rest of the way. This year we are leaving at bedtime and driving straight through. Well, Greg will be driving straight through. The kids and I will be sleeping...I will be at least. Abby said to me on this particular Saturday afternoon, "Mommy, Daddy will be up all night since he is driving. He'll be up till midnight." I said, "He'll be up way past midnight." "Oh you mean like 1, or 2 or 3 or 4?", she asked. "No" I said, "More like 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 or 10 or 11 or 12." "Wow! That's really late. He's going to be tired."
I love her concept of time. Midnight is sooo late. Just wait till she's in college.
