For having nothing planned for the weekend, we sure managed to keep busy. After the girls' dance class on Friday night, we decided to stay in South County to go to my niece's soccer game at Concord. However, dance ended at 6:45pm and her game didn't start until 8:40pm. In the words of Leah, "What to do?" We decided to pick up a cheese pizza (no meat on Friday) for $5 and crash at Grandma and Grandpa Scheidt's house nearby. What a late night! We didn't get home until after 10pm. The kids definitely went to bed easily.
We got to sleep in until 8am on Saturday morning! Yahoo! After running some errands, we treated ourselves to TGI Friday's for lunch. Then we came home and put the kids down for nap. That gave Greg and I time to start cleaning up the backyard. With the warm weather coming, the girls have been begging to play out back. With two dogs and a long winter, the yard was less than desirable. The girls got to play outside that afternoon and all day Sunday. They had a workshop and had a lot of digging in the yard to do. They didn't do anymore damage than the moles have been doing all winter.
After cleaning up the yard, I cleaned off the porch and Greg put cabinets in the garage we got from our neighbors who redid their kitchen. A shout out to them...Thanks so much! On top of that we folded 4 baskets of laundry. (That itself is a major task in our house.)
Despite the girls and I being very crabby from lack of sleep, the weekend was VERY productive and lying in bed last night, I couldn't help feeling proud of ourselves for getting so much done. What a relief. The girls and I are excited to spend the week outside.
